Racing gets underway, at last
The 40th edition of the Régates Royales – Trophée Panerai is finally getting underway, after two days of strong winds that forced the 200 crews to stay ashore.
The weather conditions look ideal today with a light south-easterly that is going to increase in the early afternoon, reaching some 15 knots, warm temperatures, sun and blue skies.
The start signal will be fired at 11:00 for all the groups, on three separate race areas-in the bay of Cannes for the classics and in the Juan gulf for the Dragons and the metre classes-where there may be as many as 3 races.
With only one result for the Dragons and no races for the classes, all crews are itching to go out on the water, and spectators are waiting for the show to begin.
